What's so Special about the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce?

  • We have breadth. We are the largest chamber in Fairfax County and 4th largest in DC Metro area. The Washington Business Journal wrote about our success in gaining members when others chambers are dropping members.

  • We have depth. We serve the Dulles Region, one of the top two business zones in the nation. We span Western Fairfax and Eastern Loudoun Counties, including the Town of Herndon, the area around Dulles Airport,Sterling, Chantilly, Centreville, and South Riding. This gives our Chamber a unique footprint.

  • We show leadership in transportation. We led the fight to preserve Rail to Dulles, and to have two tax districts for that project a few years ago.

  • We lead in being responsive to emergencies. When the foreclosure crisis began to be news, we reacted with a week-long Emergency Mortgage Clinic for our community.

  • We lead in meeting the needs of our workforce. We partner with NOVA on career-oriented ESOL programs, offer a Coach’s Corner business coaching program, three Leadshare groups, and seminars on diverse aspects of professional development.

  • We lead in responding to shifts in our population. We are the only chamber in the state of Virginia/DC Metro Area (aside from the U.S. Chamber) to have an Immigration Reform Position, which we have vigorously shopped on Capitol Hill. We have also addressed the day labor problem, for the last three years we have been offering ESOL classes as well as one year of TESOL, to train educators to teach ESOL.

  • We have leadership resources. Our current Chair has headed two associations.  Past chairs have headed other chambers, Rotary Clubs, Committee for Dulles, the Hispanic Republican National Committee. We have an Olympic Gold Medalist, major philanthropists, bank presidents, and Inc. 500 CEOs guiding our programs and strategies. Our President has served for over 15 years and was named Virginia Chamber Executive of the Year in 2006.

  • We have a proven track record of excellence in assisting six area high schools. Fairfax Public Schools has twice presented us with the Career Connections Award as well as naming us Partner of the Year in 2006. We assist through budgeting classes, Ethics Days, a large student job fair, and a scholarships program.

  • We attract excellence. Governor Kaine chose our Chamber as the venue for delivering his Northern Virginia transportation speech. We have had three former Virginia Governors attend our Chamber’s Virginia Gala.

  • We have the largest social network for business in Northern Virginia, with over 325 annual networking opportunities.  Our Friday Night Live! Concerts draw thousands each Friday night throughout the summer months.

  • We have currency. Our committees reflect the changing times. We have the Hispanic and Asian Business Committees, Environmental Committee and Health and Wellness Committee.

  • We have heritage. In 2009 our chamber celebrated fifty years of serving our business community.
