Workforce Development

Mission:

To support the Chamber in providing affordable and timely solutions to members' workforce and business development challenges.

Projects:

1. Dulles Corporate College:
   • Coordinate the efforts of local and regional institutions of higher learning to provide on-site, on-line, and webcast courses, seminars, events, tutelage, ESOL classes.
   • Work with member business and higher education institutions to meet requested dynamic training and re-training requirements (customer service, technology, regulatory requirements, etc.)
2. Education Outreach:
   • Work with member business and FCPS to address curriculum needs to support business and life skills (Financial literacy, homebuyer / homeowner literacy, citizenship, job search, etc.)
   • Podcasts - featuring local, regional, and national experts / authorities speaking on the most critical local, regional, state and national issues.
   • Feature library of podcasts on website and link into FCPS
   • Deploy new Conference Room as education resource and seek grant funds
3. Workforce Support:
   • Offer Chamber as nexus for all Not-for-Profit member resources available<
   • Work with member businesses on issues of healthcare and immigration
   • Advocate for employee issues such as workforce housing, public transportation, telework, etc.
4. Outreach and Multicultural Programs
   • Business Councils as support, mentors, and growth engines: Hispanic, Asian, African American, Women-Owned, SDB, Entrepreneurs, Sole Proprietors, Not-for-Profits
   • Partner with Regional and National level Business Councils
   • Community events: FNL, Herndon Festival, Job Fairs, Tech Breakfast, etc.

2nd Wednesday of the month from 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 am. Chamber's Chantilly office 3901 Centerview Drive, Suite R.
