Partner of the Year Award, 2006 Career Connections Award, 2001 & 2008

•    The Educational Council meets the first Thursday of every month from 8:30am-9:30am at various locations.  Future meeting dates are November 5th, December 3rd, January 7th, February 4th, March 4th, April 1st, May 6th, and June 10th.

•    Westfield High School and Mountain View High School will be hosting Ethics Day at the Westfield Marriott on November 23, 2009 as part of their character education programs.  Volunteers are needed to assist with this event.  Please contact Westfield High School if you are interested in volunteering your time.  

•    Reality Store, sponsored by the DRCC and Northwest Federal Credit Union, will be held at the following schools:
Chantilly High School- October 14, 2009
Mountain View High School- TBA
Herndon High School- June 2 & 3, 2010

•    The Reality Store is a program where students pay bills after planning their budget for a level of income based on a predetermined level of education. Students apply decision-making, problem-solving, and management processes to develop and follow a spending plan to meet established goals with a degree of accuracy. The goal is to develop the knowledge and skills needed to use these processes in practical, real-life situations involving the use of money. They visit a series of learning stations that require making budgeting decisions.  Community volunteers are always welcome.

•    How to Afford College/Super Saturday- FAFSA sponsored by College Access Fairfax, NWFCU Foundation and DRCC will be held February 6, 2010 at Centreville High School.  More details concerning this event will be forthcoming.

Projects and Programs: Ethics day, Reality Store (financial literacy programs), Student Job Fair, Business & technology Scholarships, and Podcasts on Contemporary Issues.
