The Herndon Chamber

The Herndon Chamber was founded in 1959 and today is a part of the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce.  Its office is located in the Old Town Hall at 730 Elden Street. You may contact the Herndon Chamber at 571.323.5304.

Meetings

The Herndon Chamber holds monthly meetings at its office, normally on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at noon.

• Friday Night Live!
A series of summer concert series held on the Town Green from May through August.  Free to the public.

• Herndon Festival Golf Tournament
Held the first Thursday in June.

• Christmas Tree Lighting and Holiday Sing-Along
Held the first Saturday in December.

• Breakfasts, Luncheons, Mixers and Grand Openings
Held throughout the year.

  • Helped found the Community Center
  • Helped found the Council for the Arts of Herndon
  • Helped with creation of Centennial Golf Course
  • Helped create Town’s Home-Based Business Ordinance
  • Hosts Friday Night Live! since 1995
  • Candidates’ Forum bi-annually since 1989
  • Multicultural Summit following 2000 Census (attended by nearly 70 organizations!)
  • Founded Visitors Center in 2001 (over 5,000 visitors in first 9 months, representing 40+ states and 20+ countries)
  • Provided Docents for Herndon Historical Museum
  • Created Downtown Business Council, now part of the Herndon Chamber Committee
  • Business Partner for Herndon High School (Ethics Day, Volunteerism, Smart Career Choices, Workforce Tours); one of 5 oldest business-school partnerships in Fairfax County
  • Managed Herndon Festival Business EXPO (1990-2010)
  • Created Post September 11 Town Vigil (attended by over 800 and with over $13,000 raised for the Red Cross that day)
  • Hosted Public Programs on Managing Change after September 11
  • Conduct Ribbon-Cuttings for New Businesses
  • Lobbied for creation of and marketed Herndon’s Telecommuting Center
  • Major sponsor of Herndon High’s All Night Grad Party
  • Major sponsor of Herndon High’s After Prom Breakfast
  • Annual financial support for Town’s elementary schools
  • Marketing of Town through promotional ads, maps, Visitors’ Guide
  • Advocate for revitalization of downtown (including public information sessions post-charrette)
